Speak out for Engineering

Duncan Henderson has won the world SOFE 2018 competition in Delhi! Speak Out for Engineering is an international public speaking contest run by IMechE and supported by the Mechanical Engineering Group and Engineering New Zealand Wellington Branch.


Can you present for 20 minutes and answer some questions for the chance to win great prizes?
Entries are now open for the 2020 edition of the IMechE Speak Out for Engineering competition across Oceania.

In 2020, in response to the COVID 19 pandemic, Speak Out for Engineering is being hosted online, with the same great prizes of approximately $540 AUD for first place and $360 AUD for second place.

Heats will run across the region from late September through early November, with the regional final to be held in late November.

FAQ:

  • Heat dates and times will be arranged with participants as entries are received, and will not be redacted to a specific state
  • Presentations will need to be submitted, pre-recorded, 2 days prior to the heat being held but not do need to be submitted to enter.
  • All Q&A will be live during the video conferencing heat
  • Competition is open to all IMechE Affiliate Members, Associate Members and Members who have been professionally registered for less than 10 years
