Taking the Drone out of Drones!

Drones (or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) have become an essential technology for filming movies, sports events and all manner of emerging commercial and consumer applications but they have a limitation – the noise they make. NZ start up, Dotterel technologies, is a world leader in reducing noise generated and recording audio from drones.

Seamus Rowe, Mechatronics Lead at Dotterel, will tell us about the challenges of making a drone quiet and some of the technology they have developed and provide insight into the Dotterel journey from an idea to Techstar.

There will be the opportunity to examine some of the hardware they have developed and engage in discussion at the end of the talk.
